Perks of having an almost famous boyfriend...

is that I get "that" close to celebrity (and someone I quite admire !)

Garn Littledyke (my almost famous boyfriend)sends me jokes on this contraption we call email. As do most, he has a "group" of people he send these jokes, pictures, forwards (my personal favorite) and so on.

One day, I get to looking at the other people included on his "list" and I see a name that rings a tiny bell - HA - more like a great big gong.

This other person (who shall remain nameless - until I feel like I need to be a "name dropper") is an inductee to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame...I mean, guitar GOD ! He can call Clapton, Mike Campbell (guitarist for Tom Petty who is way under-rated), Lindsey Buckingham (another way under rated guitar player), Henrix, and Jimmy Page PEERS !!

Anyway, this GUITAR GOD is someone I quite admire (and let's face it...I would drink his dirty bath water through a straw) AND HIS FREAKING EMAIL ADDRESS IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME.

He is the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME !!! I know most of the people reading this are from Montana and Wyoming (where "culture" is as popular as Hillary Clinton) but this GOD is in with the likes of Paul McCartney, Buddy Guy, Tom Petty, Neil Young, George Harrison, Led Zepplin and the list goes on.

I am really tempted to send him a note that reads "uh...uh....uh....uh...." because that's what I'd do if I ever saw him face to face (I mean, why be pretentious over electronic mail !) but I would probably end up in his SPAM folder. BUT THEN AGAIN, who freaking cares? I could brag to the rest of the world that one of my emails made it into the spam folder of _________ MEMBER OF THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME !!

I love having an almost famous boyfriend. My mind is a delicious place to be !

Dad's visit !!!

I had a busy weekend. Mom on Mother's Day...and Dad and Becky shortly thereafter.

We had a nice meal and visit at Polly's house. Polly made fish tacos (of which I turned my nose up at). I thought "Well, I could just eat the fish" because fish tacos just don't jive with me (or so I thought). So Polly cooks bite sized lightly breaded halibut that was divine, along with corn tortillas, shedded CRISP cabbage, and a sauce made of plain yogurt w/real lime juice and cilantro, grated cheese, and chunky guacamole.....along with some taco sauce and other fun stuff.

So I make a taco (not to offend my big sis) and it might be the best freaking thing I have ever eaten. I LOVE them !!

Dad and Becky were on there way back to Jackson after spending some time in Lewistown. Dad goes back to Lewistown and visits old friends (like grade school friends) quite often. A good time is had by all...I bet they have some stories to tell !

I must get back to work. Let me tell you, the trucking industry is FOLDING around us due to the high fuel prices. Just last month we were paying trucks about $1.65 per mile to do "long" runs (over 700 miles)....now we are paying over $3.00. IN ONE MONTH...many trucks are just parking. Not driving a mile...just parking, and I can't blame them.

May 14 1998 - sad day

It's the ten year anniversary of Francis Albert Sinatra's death.

In case you don't know - he is my all time favorite. I adore every cell in his 130 pound body.

I took an EARLY lunch today to run to the post office and get a sheet of the new stamps (pictured above). I was totally "that person" in the post office that pisses people off so bad.

I was talking to the lady behind the counter, well asking her if I could have the Frank displays after the stamp was retired. She thought I probably could, but I needed to write me telephone # and address down. Well, I kept chatting...not realizing a string of people were lining up behind me. When I walked out of the post office, I got some very glaring looks. Whatever, those hillbillies don't understand passion.

My sister Kelly calls me last night

and says "Guess where I am at right now?".

I am thinking "This is the Poindexter version of Where In The World Is Kelly Liegois?"

She was at Graceland. Elvis's home and place of rest. She took these cool photos on her camera phone and sent them. I can't believe the quality.

I love Elvis. I remember the day he died. We were living in Bozeman (it was summer and I was out of school) and who knows what kind of trouble I was getting into. I hear Mom's car pull into the driveway (gravel, you know) and come up the porch stairs. She opens the front door and immediately I know something is wrong. Her eyes are all red and teary.

I asked her..."What up Mom?" (I totally didn't say it like that...I would have been whooped if I said it like that!) and she looks at me with those big, brown pools of chocolate and sobs "Elvis died today!"

I am thinking...that fat guy who wears ugly jumpsuits? The sweaty, mutton chopped dude that wears sequins? Really what I am thinking is "Why the hell you crying Mom?" but now I totally understand the tears.

That Elvis was CALIENTE hot...and he was a momma's boy. Gotta love a momma's boy !

I am DONE.....

with horse racing. It used to bother me when I was a little girl (as I always felt sorry for the last place horse), but thought I would give it another chance a few years ago.

I went to the "Yellowstone Downs" here in Billings and watched an afternoon of racing and it was a BLAST ! I even won seven dollars. I, of course, bet on the horse with the prettiest silks.

So, last year I decide to watch the Derby because of all the hoopla concerning Barbaro. Well, we know that whole story and that he is in horsey heaven.

This year, I am flipping through the channels and it was almost post time. I think to myself "Self, nothing tragic is going to happen two years in a row"....ya, I suck at predictions.

I am not a card carrying member of PETA (and never will be)...but I AM DONE WITH HORSE RACING !!

Greetings all...

I haven't been keeping this us very well...my apologies.

I am sitting at my desk (07:15 am) eating cold pizza. My co-workers are "amazed" (and grossed out) by what I like to eat for breakfast. I don't really like bacon, eggs, toast and hash browns for breakfast but I love all that stuff for dinner. I would much rather have lasagna or Chinese food for breakfast.

That gets me thinking...what is dinner? Is it the noon time meal or is the evening meal? What is supper...supper has to be the evening meal, as you see "Supper Club" on some restaurant's advertising.....mmm, but if they are open during lunch, that COULD be supper.

What's the difference between a cafe and diner? Or cafe, diner or restaurant for that matter??

How come they call apartments APART MENTS when they are TOGETHER??

How come you park on a driveway and drive on a parkway? Freaking crazy.

What's the difference between a motel and a hotel. I think the name "motel" was invented in the 50's for "Motor Inn"...but Super 8 calls itself a MOTEL...I am sure they wouldn't want you to park on the third floor !!

How come Mickey Mouse only wears pants and suspenders and Donald Duck only wears a shirt? Mmmmmm.....

I have to go back to work now. I have a headache. HOW CUTE IS MY CAT????
