Boo !

Happy Halloween ! I really don't like the holiday myself, except for watching the kids get all excited.

I remember (way back) when I was a little duker I used to get "extra" candy because I had a cool receptacle in which the people put the candy. We lived in Big Sky at the time and Mother had me carry this wicker frog with his mouth wide open as a trick-or-treat "bag". Of course, all the rich folks in Big Sky would say "Oh, what a cute little frog" and give me extra candy.

My dad was always one to dress up. He had/has the best imagination (his brain just works WAAAAAY different than 99% of us walking this earth) when it came to costumes. He dressed up as a mummy once...and you couldn't miss him with that long, lanky frame. One year he was Pancho or Lefty (ding, ding, ding...probably Pancho)
as he was a bandito. He won "best costume" on that one, I think.

Halloween of 1983 or 1984 was cold, cold, cold in Jackson. Dad and I lived in the "little" house and he finally decided to fire up the "coke" stove. That little thing pumped out the heat. So, he fires it up and in no time it was WAY too hot in the house for us. What do we do?...open the door, of course. It's like 30 below (okay, not that bad...but cold) and we have the front door open. All of a sudden I hear a little noise from the street. I look out the window and a little trick-or-treater had fallen and couldn't get up. He was an "alien" which consisted of a square box (like for a large micro-wave) covered in tin foil...with holes cut in the side for his little arms to stick out. He must have slipped on the ice and went ass over tea kettle. WELL, he was just like a turtle on his back. This little duker couldn't get his feet under him....he was just laying there KICKING saying "Help Me". I was laughing so FREAKING hard inside, but didn't let him know. I let him warm up and gave him a big stinking handful of candy. I think we may have even called his mom.

I am wearing a C3PO mask today. My sister Polly should be proud. She always liked that movie...the struggle between good and evil and GOOD prevails. That's my sister, huh !!
