but I won't be here on Sunday, so I am posting now.
I have a COOL dad whom I love very much.
He has many facets to his personality. He has lived a very eclectic life. I am lucky that I got to live some of it with him.
We all inherit pieces and parts of our parents, but I am pretty much full of Poindexter genes. The Allen ones are there, just a little camera shy !
Physically, all of us girls resemble Dad. Sure, Polly looks somewhat like mother (and is even more so as she "matures") but Kelly and I could dead ringers for Dad if we grew mustaches and wore cowboy hats.
I have been told on more than one occasion that I have his "gait". That's funny to me, as I could hear Dad coming from a million miles away. He takes really long strides, but his/our walk has a very definite cadence to it.
And I got the sad eyes...you know, they kinda droop down on the outer corners. And his hands. My hands are identical to his, however they are not nearly as talented. I remember watching him draw and draft...I would just sit there for hours. I really liked when he was designing buildings (back in the old days of real architecture) and he would make little models of the buildings. It was SO fun ! He'd use little mirrors for lakes, and the trees were little pipe cleaners.
And I hope I got a touch of his humor. People tell me that I can tell a good joke...well, that is ALL from him. It's all in the timing, and for some odd reason I picked up on that. Polly, on the other hand, knows one joke....one. And it is (drum roll please).
What time did the Chinese man go to the dentist? "Tooth hurty"
I hope you have a fantastic Father's Day DAD !! And Happy Father's Day to the rest of the Dads in my life...Uncle Burke, Cousin Denny, Cousin Tommy, Cousin Dan Hammond, Second cousin CASEY !, Dick, Bobby, Garn, and my secret agent !

Thanks again for the Happy Father's (Popper's) Day message. Very nice!
You keep saying how weird you are. Well, I won't argue with you. Why in the hell would I? But, it's a good weird. As I get to know you, it's obvious, the world would be a much lesser place without PiD in it.
